6th Grade Math Team Finishes 2nd at Berry College
The Jasper Middle School Sixth Grade Math team finished second out of 12 teams at the recent Berry College Fall Math Competition. This was accomplished through a true team effort with all team members contributing to the final score. Congratulations to team members Stephanie Bresgas, James Carlan, Lauren Childers, Josh Cook, Cameron Fowler, Seth Green, Logan Joiner, and Baylee Moore.
This trophy joins the many others previously earned by JMS Math teams. Thank you to Ms. Sherry Carter and Mrs. Lynn Burns for assisting the team.
School Dances Are a Blast for Students
Often, clubs and other student groups host school-wide dances as a fun way to raise funds for school activities. Everyone had a blast at the recent Halloween dance on October 25th in the JMS gym.
Several parents and faculty worked hard to make this an extremely fun event for the kids. Several of the faculty really got into the event by wearing creative costumes. To the left is a great photo of Assistant Principal Barnhill and Dr. Parks at the dance. On Friday, November 8th, JMS Dynamics hosted a Retro Dance in the cafeteria.
7th Grader Wins School Bus Safety Poster Contest
Jasper Middle School student Madison Whitley is the winner of this year's School Bus Safety Poster Contest. The theme for 2013 was "At My Stop - You Stop!". Whitley is pictured here with JMS art teacher, Allison Naples.
Students who participated in the contest met in the JMS art room to work on posters that promote driver and student safety at school bus stops. Whitley's poster was the one chosen by her school to compete with other counties in the state and has a chance to win a cash prize.
