Jasper Middle School proudly hosts one of the North Georgia units of the Boys and Girls Club of America.  Our unit is officially titled "The Club at JMS" within the Boys and Girls Club of North Georgia Corporation.

After-School Tutorial

 

 

Jasper Middle School is pleased to offer free tutoring for students currently attending JMS.  Several of our  certified classroom  teachers serve as our tutors and are versed in various subjects.  Students will receive supplementary assistance and more "one on one" instructional opportunities.   Many students achieve great success while attending these sessions.  Free school bus transportation is provided at the end of each tutoring session.

Beta Club

Open to students with an overall average of 90 or above and teacher recommendation.  The National Beta Club promotes character,
develops leadership skills,
encourages service involvement,
recognizes achievement, and
provides technological advantages to
students in grades 5 - 12.

Ms. Lori Holbert

·          Adopted an Iraqi troop platoon and corresponded with troops in Iraq.

·          Held a sponsor dance.  

·          Member of National Junior Beta Club.

Drama Club

To promote the Dramatic Arts at Jasper Middle School.  Students are involved in learning to play roles including dramatic readings, acting, and other forms of theatrical talent.

·          Drama Discovery Outings

·          Drama student performances at Elementary Schools

·          Attend professional drama productions.

 

4-H Club

Service club affiliated with the Georgia Cooperative Extension Service.  In 4-H, youth learn life skills they will benefit from forever. Most 4-H programs center around three areas, leadership, citizenship, and life skills.

·          District Project Achievement

·          Meet and discuss fundamentals of being a 4-Her (Good citizenship, life skills, and leadership)

·          Students attend annual 4-H camp at Rock Eagle.

Library Dragons Club

Open to all students for the purpose of promoting pleasure reading among middle school students.  Students learn to enjoy sharing the fun and art of literacy among the community in Jasper.

·          Students read at the elementary schools to promote literacy.

·          Students read to the elderly at hospitals and nursing homes.

·          “Teddy Bears and Books of Christmas” at the hospitals.

 

Junior Optimist Club

Optimist Clubs are serious about "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" and do their part through community service programs.  Each Club is autonomous and run by members in their community, Optimists have the unique flexibility to serve the youth of their community in any way they see fit.  Optimist Clubs see a need in their community and react to it.

·          Student members work with the Pickens County Animal Rescue.

·          Student members work with the holiday “Can-A-Thon” as a service to the community.

Student Council

Service oriented club designed to promoted leadership among young people within the school setting. Student leadership development is the process of involving students in meaningful ways both in and beyond the classroom. It is providing opportunities for students to demonstrate their talents, skills, and interests while continuing to develop new skills. It is also about giving students more ownership of the programs they attend.

·          Student club members worked with Habitat for Humanity.

·          Students raised $1,000.00 to benefit a cancer patient.

·          Students meet and discuss the operations of the student body.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

A service oriented club; open to all students interested in promoting Christian values within the realm of athletics.

·          Students sponsor a “White Christmas” fundraiser.

·          Students participate with a monthly guest speaker.

Future Farmers of America (FFA)

A service oriented club designed to promote careers in agriculture.
