Jasper Middle School named a Title I Distinguished School by State Superintendent Kathy Cox for a Second Year! (December 2008)

Jasper Middle school has
been name a 2008 Georgia Title I Distinguished School by Kathy Cox, Georgia State Superintendent of Schools.  Jasper Middle School has achieved AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) status for a fourth year in a row and this is the second time consecutively that JMS has received this honor.  We are very proud of our students and staff for their contributions to the consistent academic excellence that we strive to maintain at JMS.

Lt. Governor Casey Cagle congratulates Jasper Middle School on being recognized by the GA Superintendent of Schools for demonstrating superior academic gains during the 2007-08 school year.  The Lt. Governor commends the students, staff, and parents for a job well-done.

BREAKING NEWS!  Jasper Middle School meets and exceeds state academic standards by making AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) for the 4th year in a row!



JULY 25, 2008 BREAKING NEWS!   Jasper Middle school has achieved AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) again this year for the fourth year in a row  based on our attendance rate, test participation,  and our CRCT (Criterion Referenced Competency Test) scores!  Nearly 80% (79.3 %) of JMS students met or exceeded state standards in Mathematics. JMS again achieved remarkable scores in Reading and Language Arts with 91% of students meeting or exceeding state standards.   With our secondary indicator, attendance rate, we had 7% of students that missed 15 or more days of school this year.  Congratulations to all students, parents, and faculty on a job well-done during the 2007-08 school year!
